Baby’s First Concert
Thursday night I went to the U2 concert at the Garden. Unfortunately, Katrina had to work, so she wasn’t able to attend with me. Before the song Original of the Species, Bono dedicated it to all the pregnant women in the audience. It absolutely killed me that Katrina wasn’t there. So, thankfully, we were both able to attend Saturday night’s concert.
Katrina was a real trooper all day. We got to the Garden at 6:30 AM and did not get our tickets until after 7:00 PM. Yes, 7:00 at night. There were many times that I knew she just wanted to leave, but she wanted to get in (and didn’t want the scalpers behind us in line geting the tickets that we potentially could have purchased).
Unfortunately, my shirt designs below failed in production. I didn’t have the right kind of printable iron-on that could be used on a black shirt. So now Katy has a black tank top with what appears to be brown circles and some sort of writing on it. I guess the red just wouldn’t show up against black. Oh well.
Of course, I have plenty of pictures to show the baby later.

All dressed up…
Yesterday was the Graduation Gala at the EpiCenter in South Boston. Although it was cold, windy and rainy thanks for the Nor’ Easter blowing in, we braved the elements and put on our best for a night out. This was the first time any of my friends from law school had seen Katrina pregnant and they were very excited to finally do so.
It turned out to not be as formal as we expected, even though it was black tie optional, and wasn’t exactly our scene. It was more of a “stand around and get trashed” type of event than the “gala” it was made out to be. So, we headed home and watched Spanglish.
Here’s some eye candy of me and Katrina. For those of you counting, yesterday was 23 weeks!

Achtung Baby…
…Or should it be Boy. All I know is that just before October it’s going to be time to Pop. Hopefully the baby will be well-behaved so Katy and I won’t be Wide Awake in America. We’ll probably have to shake the baby’s Rattle and Hum to him to lull him to sleep.
I was hoping that the baby’s first-ever concert would be while U2 is in town this week. But, alas, the ticket brokers (read: scalpers) have the upper hand, and I have the lower budget. And forget about eBay.
So, to introduce my son to the world of U2 fandom (and cope with the fact that U2 were performing tonight and I wasn’t there), I created a cd single cover for the baby based on the third version of the cover for the Vertigo single.
And while I was at it I decided to make a couple other little things that I thought would be cute for Katy to (hypothetically) wear as designs on a shirt. Imagine that the concentric circles are over her pregnant belly.

Next up: design a red onesie with a big “7″ on it and a black skull cap so Katy can dress the baby up like the Edge. Not much more is needed… the Edge is pretty much bald too!
